Marocco

2 weeks of holiday in Morocco from Agadir til Fez. Dairies from the Atlas mountains, medinas and insight look at the moroccian population.

Late March we went to Morocco on holiday. We found an exciting combination of flight tickets on RyanAirs homepage which included a daystop in London on the outbound flight and a day in Pisa on the return flight from Morocco. Due to Easter in Denmark we had to pay 2000 dkk for the 4 flight tickets. We had a total of 2 weeks in Morocco where we explored this North African country. Our adventures takes you from Agadir in the south to the very vertile Fez in the north. We focus both on bigger cities and the best nature that Morocco has to offer. Overnight in the desert, climb Saharan endless sandy tops, walk and bicycle in the breathtaking mountain landscapes and much more. Morocco is a Muslim country where religion plays a central role in the society. Tourism is also very important for this very poor African country. If you plan on staying in Morocco for a longer time it is almost impossible not to get tricked by dishonest Moroccans in the major tourist areas of Marrakesh and Fez. It is easy to get the impression that the majority of the people are crooks or bad people who are only after the tourists' money. A Moroccan seller makes even the most strenuous Indian seller the most harmless person in the world. It may at times be a challenging task to be on holiday in Morocco where a 10 double "no" is seen as a little "yes" and a "no" in other cases provokes the seller to call you racist or give you the finger. It is very normal that bills at restaurants are quite wrong, however, always in the restaurant's favor. 9 out of 10 times we experienced that the bill was either slightly or very wrong, yes, sometimes up to 80% extra were added to the bill. It is almost impossible not to build any kind of skepticism of the Moroccan people. Our impression of Morocco is that the country in the major tourist areaa are destroyed by tourism. If you visit areas where there are not many tourists, you will probably, like us, experience far more honest and trustworthy people. Morocco will probably never be on our top 10 list, but it is clear that the country has some of the most beautiful scenery and trekking opportunities in the whole world which certainly means that you will get some memorable experiences.
