Morocco

On our journey from Agadir to Fez, Morocco gave us both excitement and frustration. We walked through the medinas of Marrakech and Fez, visited Essaouira, cycled in the Dades Gorge, hiked through the Todra Gorge and met nomads in the mountains. In the Sahara, we travelled by jeep around Erg Chebbi and came close to the great dunes, while the area around Azrou surprised us with green forests and local markets. The intense tourist areas and encounters with persistent sellers required patience, but they were only one part of a much more varied journey. When we returned to Agadir many years later as a family, we drove ourselves to Paradise Valley and discovered another side of the country. To us, Morocco is a land of contrasts, strong colours and dramatic landscapes, filled with experiences that challenged us and stayed in our memories.
