Mediterranean Cruise on Legend of the Seas
After a day in Barcelona, we embark on a seven-night Legend of the Seas Mediterranean cruise through Spain, France and Italy.
During the autumn school holiday, we fly from Billund to Barcelona and stay overnight before boarding Legend of the Seas. This gives us time to slow down, enjoy some good food and revisit Barcelona before the cruise begins. Legend of the Seas will be the world's largest cruise ship, and experiencing the ship itself is a major part of the trip. It will have a waterpark, pools, restaurants, shows and an enormous range of activities. The ship is almost a destination in its own right, and we are curious to see whether it feels impressive or simply overwhelmingly large. From Barcelona, we sail into the Mediterranean with stops in Mallorca, France and Italy. The route includes Palma de Mallorca, Marseille, La Spezia, Civitavecchia and Naples. We are considering excursions to Florence or Pisa, a day in Rome and perhaps a trip to Capri from Naples. A full day at sea will also give us plenty of time to explore the ship. The journey will combine cities, Mediterranean atmosphere and life on board. We will not plan every excursion in advance, as we would like the freedom to decide along the way and choose what works best for the family.
