Adriatic Cruise, Istria & Alpine Adventure

An Adriatic cruise to Greek islands, Kotor and Dubrovnik followed by a road trip through Istria, Slovenia and the Austrian Alps.

After challenges with delayed flights, we finally reached Trieste and started a cruise through the Adriatic. We visited Kotor in Montenegro, which we also visited 10 years ago, back then with little Alberte, only 2½ months old. Greek islands The cruise took us to the Greek islands of Corfu, Santorini and Mykonos. On Mykonos, we rented a car and explored the trendy and luxurious island. The weather was perfect throughout the cruise. Dubrovnik The last stop on the cruise was Dubrovnik in Croatia, which we have also visited before. This time it was sunny, unlike last time. Road trip in Istria After the cruise, we started a road trip by rental car. We visited mountain villages in Istria and the charming harbor town of Porec with Italian and Croatian atmosphere. We stayed at a large campsite with many activities for children and took boat trips to various islands, including a visit to the world's smallest city Hum. Slovenia and Austria We continued to Slovenia, where we stayed in a farmhouse from the last century. Then we drove to Austria and stayed in the mountain town of Gosau. We hiked the Heilbronner route at Dachstein Salzkammergut, climbed the Schafberg mountain and enjoyed the lake at Zell am See surrounded by mountain peaks over 3000 meters.
