πŸŽ‰ Happy New Year everyone πŸ‘ŒπŸ’πŸ₯‚ We are celebrating the New Year on the Canary Island of La Palma in 22 degrees, sunshine, and shorts β˜€οΈπŸ©³ Here on La Palma, the New Year is also celebrated during the day, and we are trying to capture as much of the Spanish New Year spirit as possible. Already this morning, we drove to the island's largest city, Los Llanos de Aridane (about 20,000 inhabitants). The celebration starts early here with lots of life in the streets and a cozy New Year run, where many participated – several in creative costumes – while we cheered from the sidelines πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸŽ Later in the afternoon, we headed back to Santa Cruz de La Palma, the island's second-largest city with about 15,000 inhabitants. Here, the streets were already filled with street performers, music, and a festive atmosphere, and as a firm tradition, the city also marks the New Year with an early "Australian" countdown. Tonight, we are going to a restaurant in our finest clothes and festive hats, etc. πŸŽ‰πŸ’β€οΈβ€πŸ”₯
