Relaxation in Hua Hin

Just a short distance south of Bangkok lies the city of Hua Hin. It’s a 2.5-hour bus ride for only 200 baht, with buses leaving every 30 minutes straight to Hua Hin. The roads are good, so the journey goes smoothly. Hua Hin is quite popular with tourists—especially men. But it’s a lovely place to relax for a few days since everything you need is right at your fingertips—there’s a great selection of restaurants, bars, shops, and the beach, all within walking distance. Prices here are higher than in Bangkok, but that’s often the case in very popular spots with charter tourists. They tend not to haggle much over prices before buying something, which is why the price level is quite different from the capital. The beach by the city is pretty packed with sun loungers, vendors, and horses for rent. There are also some large rocks in the water. But it’s easily accessible, making it a popular choice for many. It’s safe to walk around in the evenings through the many streets filled with bars, where we often strike up conversations with the girls working there, who are just waiting for a new man—preferably a tourist.
