Biking Across the Golden Gate Bridge

The hostel had an amazing deal with a bike shop. We each rented a bike and were ready for the big tour. We pedaled our way over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito. It took us a couple of hours and included some steep climbs that nearly took Mette's breath away. The weather completely changed once we got to the other side of the bridge. With a clear blue sky and sunshine, the ride became even more enjoyable. Sausalito is such a charming town with plenty of restaurants and cafes. It's a place where the wealthier and more famous folks from San Francisco live. We found a park where we could relax... before we had to head back since the bikes needed to be returned by 7 PM. Many people choose to take the ferry back for $6, but we decided to bike back and save that expense. In the evening, we went grocery shopping in Chinatown and cooked dinner at the hostel. It really hit me how unsanitary a lot of the food is in Chinatown! There were flies buzzing around, and you often see rotten fruit. So, be especially careful when shopping in Chinatown! It had been a long day, so we were out like a light before 9 PM...
