Road trip starts in Trieste

Today we got our rental car in Trieste. The next 2 weeks will be a road trip to Croatia, Slovenia and Austria. First stop is "mountain" villages in Istria, Croatia. We are staying in a very local village called Makovci. There are absolutely no tourists and the host doesn't speak a single word of English. So everything is done via sign language 🤭 We stay in a stone house with lots of space and bedroom. The conditions are really nice. The host has taken care of us, so there is locally brewed wine in the fridge. Quite free 😘 After we checked in, we went on a road trip in the nearby villages of Motovun and Groznjan. Super pretty medieval villages where it's really nice to just stroll around. Motovun is located on a hilltop at an altitude of almost 300 meters. Truffles are big in these parts 💋 There are countless shops selling everything with truffles in it. So we tasted, among other things, truffle chips 🤪
