Sun, beach, and plenty of drinks

At 5:30 in the morning, we finally arrived in Nha Trang, the city with the best beaches in Vietnam. The bus took us around to different hotels, so we didn’t have to search for one ourselves. Of course, they brought us to places that give them a commission. The cheapest hotels were going for $4, but we decided on one with a rooftop terrace, where the rooms had balconies with sea views, and it was super central and close to the beach. It cost $10, including air conditioning. We were a bit tired after the long bus ride, so we headed up to sleep before hitting the beach. Well-rested, we made our way down to the beach, just a few hundred meters from the hotel. We rented a couple of sun loungers for 10,000 dong each. We didn’t stay alone for long, as the beach was packed with eager sellers and masseuses. We ended up getting pedicures, buying Lonely Planet books, and picking up some necklaces. Down by the water’s edge, a local guy was playing ball with some Israelis, and Honny struck up a conversation with them while I lounged on the beach soaking up the sun. Later in the day, we found a place to rent a motorcycle for 40,000 dong since we needed to find a doctor to remove the stitches from Honny's foot. A guy from our hotel offered to accompany us to the doctor, which we thought was really nice. However, when we arrived, he asked for a tip, so we gave him 3,000 dong. The electricity had gone out in the whole town, so the doctor had to remove the stitches by candlelight. The doctor was a French woman who had settled in Vietnam and opened a practice. It cost $10 to get the stitches removed. We found a restaurant called "Jack’s" for dinner, which was recommended by Lonely Planet. We sat on the first floor and enjoyed the view while we ate. The bill came to 98,000 dong for a drink, a beer, water, and food - super cheap! The restaurant recommended "Sailing Club" as "the place to be." There, we met two Danish guys, Carsten and Brandon, and struck up a conversation. At Sailing Club, there was happy hour, so four drinks only cost 37,000 dong, which is about 20 kroner – incredibly cheap! Plus, the bartenders kept coming around with free shots, so we ended up getting pretty tipsy.
