Snorkeling Trip with a Floating Bar

We stored our luggage at the hotel while we went on a snorkeling trip. The tour cost 7 USD per person and included transportation, snorkeling gear, lunch, fruit, and a floating bar. At 8 AM, the bus picked us up and took us to the meeting point. From there, we all piled into the bus—about 20-25 people—and headed down to the harbor where the boat was waiting. As we sailed out into the sea, many of us sat on the roof of the boat soaking up the sun. Suddenly, we were hurried down when a police boat approached, explaining that we weren’t allowed to sit up there. Our first stop was a stunning snorkeling spot with beautiful coral. If you want the best snorkeling gear, don’t rent it from the company, as their equipment is quite worn out. After a long and enjoyable snorkeling session, it was time for lunch on board the boat. While we were out in the water, the crew had prepared a delicious buffet. After feasting on some fantastic food, it was time for a bit of entertainment. The "boss" of the trip pulled out a guitar and sang a song from each country represented on the tour. He even managed to sing one from Denmark—“Lille Peter Edderkop.” Once we finished singing and let our food settle, it was time to jump back into the water as the floating bar was launched. There was free wine, which tasted quite bitter but was enjoyed by many. A couple of people got a bit too tipsy and stumbled around the boat when they came back up. On our way to the last stop of the trip, we passed a small island where we were greeted by eager women in coconut-like boats, offering rides around the island. They almost climbed aboard our boat, managing to convince Honny to take a ride in one of the coconut boats. The final stop was on an island where we had to pay to disembark, and we also had to pay for a sunbed, so we couldn’t quite understand why we were stopping there. It cost 5,000 dong per person to go ashore and 50,000 dong for a sunbed with a parasol. We felt a bit like we had been taken for a ride. Back at the hotel, we had just enough time to take a shower and grab dinner before we had to head north to Hoi An. When the bus arrived, we got a disappointing surprise—it was completely packed, and our luggage had to be placed in the aisle, where people ended up stepping on our backpacks whenever they got off during breaks.
