Lanzarote - Timanfaya and lava 🌋

We were among the first to disembark the ship here in Lanzarote – as always, the schedule was packed 📍 We had rented a car in advance, ready at the cruise terminal. However, the island has two cruise terminals, and unfortunately, we arrived at the wrong one. This resulted in a short taxi ride of about 5 km (10 €), but just a few minutes later, both the car and the formalities were sorted. The first stop was Timanfaya National Park 🌋 It’s important to arrive early to avoid queues. The visit takes place via a roughly 35-minute bus ride through an extremely beautiful volcanic landscape, created by violent eruptions in the 1700s. Over 100 volcanoes, still warm just beneath the surface – and an atmosphere that feels more like the moon than Europe 🔥🚍 Lanzarote is just incredibly beautiful 🙏 After Timanfaya, we continued to El Golfo and the iconic Lago Verde – the emerald green lagoon surrounded by black lava and the Atlantic Ocean. One of Lanzarote’s most photogenic spots 📸 The day ended perfectly at the beach in Puerto del Carmen. Yes, it’s touristy – but sun, 24 degrees, and beach is just a great way to wrap up the day ☀️🌊
