Here on Santiago Island we drive around in a rental car. It's a bit expensive (about 400kr per day), but it makes everything easier and gives us a lot of freedom 😀 Today we drove from the bottom to the top of the island and ended up in the fishing village of Tarrafal, which is known for having some great beaches. The trip up here went through dramatic mountain landscapes and the distance of about 70km takes about 1 1/2 hours. In Tarrafal, you'll see fishermen coming home with the day's catch and fresh fish. It is buzzing with local life. Everywhere there is life, lots of children, people and dogs playing. It's an atmosphere reminiscent of the Caribbean and Africa all in one place. In fact, the island is the island most reminiscent of Africa and you really feel it🛖 It's a bit poor here on the island of Santiago. Fortunately, it's very safe and Malaria is no longer present in Cape Verde 😀
