Cathedral Grove

On the way over to Vancouver Island we had a little competition to see who could spot the most whales. Villads came out on top - he saw seven whales tail slapping 🐳 We've been pretty active today here on the island. Vancouver Island has a lot to offer, and even with six days here, we've only just scratched the surface 😙 We've been to a quaint general store, a local farmers market, the beach at Parksville and the impressive Cathedral Grove, which deserves some extra words. Cathedral Grove is an iconic woodland in the middle of the island. It is home to some of the oldest and tallest Douglas fir and red cedar trees in all of Canada - many over 800 years old and up to 75 meters tall. We were deeply impressed. It is without a doubt one of the must-see places on Vancouver Island. Some of the trees have a circumference of up to 9 meters 😍 Wow!
