We started the day up on the rooftop of Maxim, lounging in the pool with a stunning view of the entire gaming city. It was incredibly hot again, and we were practically dry before we even got out of the water. Despite the heat, I was restless to get back into the casinos, and with a bit of persuasion, I managed to convince Mette to leave her little oasis. However, we didn’t kick off the drinking just yet, even though we were constantly being offered various drinks at all the casinos. There are no windows or clocks here, and there’s no set time for when the party starts again. It’s always buzzing with activity. We decided to hold off on the drinks until evening. Still, it’s a fantastic experience just to see the different massive gaming venues. The most impressive ones include New York New York, Venetian, Circus Circus, Flamingo, Hilton, Caesar’s Palace, Mirage, Paris, Treasure Island, Luxor, Aladdin, and so many more. Each one is more impressive than the last. Every place is like a little city in itself, with covered squares and streets where you can buy just about anything. The ceilings are arched and decorated just like the sky, so it really feels like you’re outside when you’re actually just wandering around indoors. As evening approached, we headed back to our room to get dressed up a bit. You’ve got to make a bit of a show when you finally make it to Las Vegas! After that, we went to a really nice casino, MGM, which offered an amazing buffet. It cost 20 dollars—kind of pricey, but totally worth it. There was food from five different countries, so we could choose from seafood, Middle Eastern dishes, Asian cuisine, traditional American fare, pizza, and pasta. Of course, there were also huge buffets filled with appetizers and desserts. Every now and then, Aladdin and his princess would make the rounds, greeting all the guests. Feeling super stuffed, we left to start our second casino adventure, ready to test our luck again and see if we could score an extra million for our wallets. Unfortunately, the luck started to turn a bit. That is, not in our favor. Mette lost every time she played, but I had been lucky up until now—though it seemed that streak was about to end. I had only lost what I had won, so my pockets weren’t too badly hit yet. Still, we wanted to get our money's worth, so we ordered plenty of drinks since they were free!
