Our cruise ship docked this morning at Phu My in the south Vietnam🇻🇳 We are back in Vietnam after a 20-year absence. Wow, there has been a development! Much more modern and rich, but it also makes sense after so many years. We chose to go to the popular coastal and beach town of Vung Tau. The city where people from Ho Chi Minh City flock to. It's easy to see why, because it's a lovely city. Vũng Tà u is known for its beaches, fresh seafood and relaxed atmosphere. There are also a number of attractions that we had to explore. Temples, beaches, city life, museums and markets. We hired a taxi for the day. A bit pricey as we had to drop 550kr for the day. But then we also had our driver to take us everywhere. He had quite limited English skills, so Google translate was super useful throughout the day. It turned out that his sister lived in Lemvig itself, so we had her on the phone later in the day. Fish restaurants abound in Vung Tau! So of course we had to try it. Our driver found us a really good local restaurant where we could try seafood hotpot. Hotpot is where you add fish and vegetables to a boiling pot yourself. Super cozy! It's the most popular dish in Vung Tau. We got off with 100 kroner in total including drinks for all 4 of us. Super experience and quite cheap, I must say.
