Miami is an expensive city. South Beach is just for rich people who want to show off their expensive cars ahead. They run up and down Ocean Drive along the beach. The one restaurant is more luxurious than the other. The food and the great cocktails so beautiful and tempting. But too expensive. The back of the glamorous city is dark and gloomy. Crime is a major problem in Florida - particularly Miami. They are well above the U.S. total average criminal. Murder and assault are everyday life in certain areas. So be careful where you move. A large proportion of people in Miami have Latin backgrounds. It is also seen on TV where there are Spanish channels about Miami, because some people speak no English. The largest concentration of Latin people in the area called the Little Havana. You can get a taste of particular the Cuban culture. South of Miami is a series of islands, called Keys. They are connected by bridges, so you can "jump" from one to another car. They stretch about 200 km into the water and are thus U.S. southernmost point. There are so many islands, but most states Key Lago, Islamorada, Marathon and Key West. Diving, snorkeling, fishing and swimming with dolphins are the major activities here. The area has not been less expensive, because you have come farther south to Miami. Prices have almost gone to. An overnight stay at the cheapest motel cost my 100 usd. A dorm bed costs 35 usd. Snorkelling costs 40 usd for 3 hours. Yes, South Florida is expensive. But it is possible to run a ride all the way to Key West and enjoy nature for free. The view is excellent and the beaches are free. Key West is the most colorful and lively island of them all. It is full of atmosphere and color. Definitely worth a visit. Sunset at Key West is a great attraction and attracts many people. The sunset can be enjoyed from inside the country for free or out at sea for 45 usd. Do like us and drive all the way back to the mainland again, it is possible to find slightly cheaper accommodations and restaurants. Sonny Buffet, located off of Highway 1 in Florida City, may be recommended. It costs only 7.99 and features salad buffet or all-you-can-eat chicken. Nobody goes away hungry.
