Talk Show in LA
USA tur hvor vi var publikum til the late late show med Craig Killborn
We had been warned about going downtown in Los Angeles. There were too many homeless people for it to be safe. Others said it was fine during the day. We decided to go anyway. We wanted to check out the financial district with its skyscrapers, which, to be honest, don’t quite compare to those in New York. In the neighborhoods around downtown, you’ll find Little Tokyo and Chinatown, but they don’t hold a candle to Chinatown in San Francisco. So overall, there’s not much interesting to see downtown. However, we felt pretty safe and didn’t encounter many homeless people. So we think it’s okay to visit downtown, but of course, you should use your common sense. Early in the morning, we headed to the front of Mann's Chinese Theatre, where they give out free tickets to talk shows. We scored tickets to The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn. It’s impossible to get tickets for the more popular shows since they need to be booked months in advance. We set off to be part of the audience for The Late Late Show. After waiting in line for a couple of hours, we were organized into rows and marched into the studio. There, we were instructed on how to behave, when to laugh, and that we shouldn’t pick our noses or do anything else embarrassing, as it would likely be recorded and shown on TV. Before Craig Kilborn made his entrance, we were warmed up by Far, a stand-up comedian responsible for keeping our spirits high. We had to laugh at everything, even if the jokes were cheesy or just plain not funny. We were just supposed to laugh to create the illusion of a fantastic show. I’ve never laughed so artificially in my life. My cheeks were sore from laughing for an hour and a half. But it was definitely an experience worth having. It’s also a side of entertainment that’s hard to find anywhere else but in the USA.
