Skotel Alpine Resort

We've moved on and stayed at New Zealand's highest hotel 'Skotel Alpine Resort', located in Tongariro National Park 🌋 On our doorstep we have some of New Zealand's most beautiful scenery. Some of the world's most active volcanoes are located in the beautiful national park. Today we hiked Mount Ruapehu, which is one of the most active volcanoes and last erupted in 2006. There's no telling when it will erupt next, but luckily we escaped with our lives ... Today we took the cable car up to the heights and hiked for about 3 hours (Skywalk, Meads Wall). The kids did super well. Villads is almost 6 years old and has the strength for more, while Alberte reached the top as the first man 😎 It was a really beautiful trip and you understand why many of the scenes from Lord of the Rings were filmed in Tongariro National Park 😍
