We haven’t quite managed to post and share our experiences, but here’s one of them 😎 Yesterday we drove from Ganja towards Baku, and on the way we obviously had to visit the Gobustan mud volcanoes – and it is truly a must-do experience in Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 Mud volcanoes exist in only a few places in the world, and Azerbaijan actually has almost half of all the mud volcanoes on Earth 🌍 It almost feels like landing on another planet. The whole area is very barren and moon-like, and everywhere you can see small bubbles rising from the ground. It’s gas from deep underground pushing cold mud up to the surface. The mud consists of water, clay, and natural gas, and in some places you can actually hear it bubbling and hissing up close 😅 The road there was quite an experience in itself 😂 The final stretch was in really bad condition, and it was almost as if our regular car wouldn’t make it. You don’t really understand why the road to one of the country’s biggest attractions is so poor. But once we arrived, it was absolutely worth the trip. It’s a truly unique natural phenomenon that you don’t see many other places in the world. A big experience for the whole family – especially Villads thought it was super fun and exciting to watch the mud bubbling up from the ground 😄
