πŸšπŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ The day arrived when we picked up our motorhome in Calgary. The camper is going to be our home for the next 12 days. But wow, it’s big! πŸ˜… The last time we rented a motorhome, in Australia, it was around 7.5 metres long. Now we’re up at a full 9.1 metres! 🚐 And yes, that’s completely legal here in Canada with an ordinary Danish driving licence! It also means we take up quite a bit of space when we park at supermarkets. We often have to park across several spaces. Luckily Canadians are very understanding of motorhomes, as long as you park properly. No sour looks or fines here. πŸ‘ŒπŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ Today we also went out and did a really big grocery shop. Yes, for around 1,500 DKK πŸ’°. It’s completely unheard of for us to buy that much in one go, but we’ve found out that both food and other groceries are generally more expensive inside the national parks, so it made sense to stock up before we set off. Our first stop is Bow Valley Campground, right up against the impressive mountains. πŸ”οΈ We’re spending the first two nights here, before continuing on towards Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper. The campground is completely full. Luckily we booked a long time ago – that’s pretty much a necessity in high season πŸ˜€ Tonight we had dinner outside. Really cosy ❀️‍πŸ”₯
