ππ¨π¦ The day arrived when we picked up our motorhome in Calgary. The camper is going to be our home for the next 12 days. But wow, itβs big! π
The last time we rented a motorhome, in Australia, it was around 7.5 metres long. Now weβre up at a full 9.1 metres! π And yes, thatβs completely legal here in Canada with an ordinary Danish driving licence! It also means we take up quite a bit of space when we park at supermarkets. We often have to park across several spaces. Luckily Canadians are very understanding of motorhomes, as long as you park properly. No sour looks or fines here. ππ¨π¦ Today we also went out and did a really big grocery shop. Yes, for around 1,500 DKK π°. Itβs completely unheard of for us to buy that much in one go, but weβve found out that both food and other groceries are generally more expensive inside the national parks, so it made sense to stock up before we set off. Our first stop is Bow Valley Campground, right up against the impressive mountains. ποΈ Weβre spending the first two nights here, before continuing on towards Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper. The campground is completely full. Luckily we booked a long time ago β thatβs pretty much a necessity in high season π Tonight we had dinner outside. Really cosy β€οΈβπ₯
