Intercepted stop in Jamaica

No stop in Jamaica today ..... Yesterday, our cruise ship spotted a small boat off the coast of Cuba that appeared to be in distress. So the ship had to turn back to perform a rescue operation. The rescue was successful and the boat/raft crew is now on board our cruise ship. Several passengers saw the boat crew throwing things off the boat before they were rescued. They had a large flag that read "freedom or death" in Spanish. Whether the crew had weapons, drugs or anything else on board is unknown. In all likelihood, they were Cuban boat refugees seeking a better life in the US. No other passengers we've spoken to have experienced a similar situation 😮 UPDATE: Last night, the 14 young men from the boat were picked up by the US Coast Guard... If they had been taken to Jamaica or Columbia, human rights wouldn't be so good.
