π€ π We dropped off the motorhome this morning, and then it was straight out to explore Calgary. Calgary is a big city with around 1.5 million inhabitants, but these days the city is buzzing with even more life, since the world-famous cowboy festival Calgary Stampede is in full swing. π€ π¨π¦ The festival is often called βThe Greatest Outdoor Show on Earthβ and has been held since 1912. Every year it attracts over a million visitors. π Itβs not just on the festival grounds that things are happening. On the pedestrian street Stephen Avenue thereβs also a fantastic atmosphere with live music, bands, dancing and lots of people in cowboy hats. πΆπΈπ€ We spent most of the day at the festival grounds, and there was really a lot to do. It cost around 480 DKK for all four of us to get in, and the area is huge. There are rides π’, cowboy and Native American shows π€ πͺΆ, farm animals ππ΄, exhibitions, music and lots of activities for both kids and adults. Yesβ¦ most people walk around in cowboy hats. π Thereβs really something for all ages, and you can easily spend a whole day here. The big rodeo show costs extra β in fact so much extra that we chose not to pay the roughly 3,000 DKK for the family that the tickets currently cost at minimum. πΈ Weβll keep an eye out again tomorrow, since you can sometimes get lucky and find cheaper last-minute tickets. π€
