Foz Do Iguazu

Finally arrived! I have to say, the journey wasn’t as bad as I expected. The seats didn’t recline all the way, but we had plenty of legroom. They even served dinner – chicken with mashed potatoes or beef fillet with rice, plus fruit salad for dessert. No wine on board, though, just Pepsi ;o) The best part was that the trip only took 16 hours, so here we are at last, and we’ve found a nice hotel with a pool. Puerto Iguazu is a big tourist town, but that’s okay because it means there are plenty of hotels, shops, restaurants, and travel agencies, so you don’t have to search long for anything. It’s pretty warm up here, so we’re definitely sweating a bit during the last leg of our journey :) After checking out the town, scouting out some good restaurants for dinner, and booking a tour to the waterfall for tomorrow, we headed back to our hotel to relax by the pool and in our room, which has air conditioning cranked up to full blast. As it started to get dark, the temperature dropped, making it a perfect evening to eat outside. Before we settled on a restaurant, we passed by a men’s clothing store where Honny ended up buying a pair of pants and a shirt for about 200 pesos. Since clean clothes can sometimes be hard to come by, he left the store wearing his new outfit. But it didn’t take long before he had to go back in and change back into a T-shirt and shorts because of the heat. As I mentioned, this town is a major tourist spot, which means there are also a lot of street vendors. So while we were eating, a man came by offering to make clay portraits of our faces in just 20 minutes… and now Honny’s face has been immortalized!
