New Plan in Place

Our hotel is incredibly quiet... probably because we’re the only guests. Yep, we might just be the only gringos in the whole town. Santa Fe can’t really boast about having a huge tourist draw :o) But we finally have our plans sorted out! After zipping back and forth between the bus terminal and a travel agency all morning, we now have a bus ticket heading north tonight and a return flight ticket to Buenos Aires on Friday. We’ll be on the bus for 17 hours, but we’ve been promised that the bus is almost better than a plane, with extra-large reclining seats and food and wine served on board :o) When we first arrived in Argentina, we set a pain threshold of 10 hours on a bus, but that’s been stretched now that we’re here. The Argentinians are so used to long bus rides that they don’t really think 17 hours is anything out of the ordinary. If this had been in Denmark, we would have ended up way down in Europe after a 17-hour bus ride :o) We’ve also had some time to explore the city a bit. There’s a big river running through town, which is said to have a vibrant nightlife. We’ve only seen it in daylight, but it looks cozy with all the bars lining the river. We also stumbled upon a little market where Honny bought another football jersey signed by Maradona. At 5:10 PM, we were settled into the bus, where we’ll be for the next 17 hours. We’re excited to see just how much luxury there is on board.
