There are so many attractions in New York that one can become quite breathless at the mere thought of everything that we want to reach to see during our vacation. You can easily spend one week in New York, and still not get to see everything. Weve made a list of all the things that we want to see. The main thing is at the top, so lets see how far down the list we get. We live approximately in the middle of Manhattan in an area called Chelsea. A town with many gay New Yorker. Dogs are also very popular in town, so we meet very, very many homosexuals who are out fanning dogs:) Manhattan, north of Chelsea, called Uptown. Here is Times Square, Central Park, Empire State Building, Trump Tower, Rockefeller Center and all the expensive boutiques along 5th Avenue. The northernmost part of Manhattan is very famous or infamous. Here is Harlem and on the other side of the bridge lies the Bronx. South of Chelsea known as Downtown and here lies the cultural neighborhoods like Soho, Tribeca, Greenwich Village and Chinatown. At the bottom is Wall Street, Ground Zero and the Brooklyn Bridge. From Battery Park you can sail out to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island where immigrants at one time had to be approved to come into the country. You can buy a bus pass, where you just jump on and off sightseeing buses. 2 days costs about 40 dollars. We chose to buy a subway map. 7 days 25 usd. The city is expensive, so well have to think a little financially. We have good hiking boots with which we got good use. We are approximately eight hours each day. We needed to get an overview of New York, so we started with just going out in the city of Manhattan. In total, consisting of five New York boroughs: Manhattan in the middle, the north Bronx, Staten Island and Queens and Brooklyn South. The sites are most concentrated in Manhattan. We headed for Central Park, where we passed the Empire State Building and Times Square, where the "ball" dropped New Years Eve. Then we took the subway to downtown, where we hopped out of Soho and went to Chinatown. We had also slipped in Macy, where Jan bought a pair of Designer shoes for 114 usd. We very much hope that we meet some famous. We made a great effort Saturday night, where we had different points in the Meat District recommended - it is between Chelsea and Soho. Unfortunately, we met no one that night. Americans are incredibly uadvendte, so we quickly fell into conversation with others. We were a couple of Irish bars, where Jan got some Hot Toddy against his indulgence - uhm. Madportionerne is quite large. So we had ordered too much dinner at Uncle Nick - a Greek restaurant in Chelsea. We got the rest in a doggy back and gave it to a homeless person at a subway station.
