The view we woke up to from our overnight stay in the motorhome. Not bad at all! 😀🏔️✔️ Today we drove the last stretch of the Icefields Parkway on the way to Jasper, with a series of stops at waterfalls and beautiful viewpoints. About 30 kilometres from Jasper, the landscape changed with huge areas of burnt trees. A fierce wildfire ravaged the area around 3 years ago and burned down… among other things, about 1/3 of the town of Jasper burned down. It’s wild how severe the wildfire was, and to this day it still leaves its mark. Our 9-year-old son Villads thought it was wild! But slowly and surely, nature is rebuilding itself. At our campground ‘Whistlers Campground’ near Jasper, there are also clear traces of the fire here too. Today we had a full 28 degrees in Jasper. So the long trousers have finally been swapped for shorts. What better way to enjoy the day than to experience cosy Jasper and, like the locals, head to the beach and swim at Pyramid Lake Beach.
