Around Phuket

Phuket is thankfully so much more than just crowded tourist beaches. If you head south, you'll discover untouched and pristine beaches where you almost have everything to yourself. Plus, the prices drop dramatically. We drove down to Phromthep Cape, the southernmost point of Phuket. Wow, the beaches in this area were stunning! Finally, we found a paradise beach! We also ventured up into the hills to soak in even more beautiful nature. Outside the tourist areas, internet costs just 15 baht per hour, compared to 60 baht in the more crowded spots. I even snagged a pair of shorts for 100 baht, which would normally set you back 180 baht. We're flying to Bangkok at 5:00 PM. Our last tour around the island was a beautiful farewell. We now have a much more varied perspective on Phuket, which we initially thought of as just a tourist mecca. We’ve booked a night at a hotel close to the airport since we’re flying to Yangon in Myanmar—also known as Burma—tomorrow morning at 7:15 AM. A night at the Green Garden Resort costs 850 baht, including free airport pickup. This hotel specializes in accommodating travelers who need a convenient overnight stay due to early flights. We arranged for a wake-up call at 4:45 AM and a taxi at 5:00 AM. The hotel always has a taxi on standby for trips to and from the airport. It only costs 150 baht per room for a ride to the airport.
