This morning, it unfortunately rained, so we had to sit under cover to eat breakfast while gazing down at the beach. Luckily, it didn’t take long for the rain to stop, and we were able to head down to the beach. We took a stroll along the water, where in some spots we had to climb over rocks to keep going. We passed a place that rented out sun loungers for 200 baht each for the whole day. You can’t lie on the beach soaking up the sun for long without a vendor stopping by. We bought a pineapple for 15 baht, enjoyed a massage for 100 baht for 45 minutes, and I got a henna tattoo for 100 baht. We spent most of the day lounging on the beach, and it was only late in the afternoon that we made our way back to the hotel. Even though there were thin clouds, we still managed to get a good dose of sun. Many of the restaurants along the beach have cushions to sit on at the tables, so you can lie back and relax while enjoying the view of the water and your meal. In the evening, we headed up to the northern part of the beach, where we had spotted a place serving BBQ. We sat right on the sand under the open sky and enjoyed our dinner. The whole meal cost us just 436 baht. We had BBQ, a drink, a beer, and some water. There are several bars along the beach and in the hotels, so we kicked off a pub crawl. We struck up a conversation with a Thai girl, one of the first we’d met who wasn’t ready to just hop on a plane to Europe with the first guy she met. She chose her boyfriends with her heart, not her head.
