Snorkelling / diving in Cayo Coco

World class shipwreck diving on the island of Cayo Coco in Cuba

We started the day running over to Cayo Coco again to go on a snorkel / dive. In Cuba, price is the same whether the trip booked on a five-star hotel or a small office in town. The State determines the price no matter where you are. So price is the same throughout the country. Thats both good and bad: o) We took a trip from the four-star hotel Tryp. They seemed professional and was good at English. It is important that communication is secure when it comes to diving, so you do not misunderstand something and putting himself in a dangerous situation. I was allowed to come out with the dive boat to snorkel. A dive of 45 min. cost 45 CUC with a brief refresher in the pool first. Snorkelling cost 20 CUC. Divers with shipwrecks, baracuda and lots of colorful fish. Visibility was good. However, the coral colors were not as beautiful as compared to Thailand. Tryp Hotel is down to an incredibly beautiful beach. It was hard to tear himself loose from the beautiful, beautiful turquoise water to run more ... Rarely have we seen such a beautiful beach. We took the same back way back toward Santa Clara again, as we took on the way out to Cayo Coco. Its incredibly beautiful with old houses, which tend to be more and more leaning whichever direction the wind comes in. peasants go with their oxen in front of the plow in the field. Boys yesterday and wound field by hand. Country Life is hard. We have not yet seen a tractor in the field. When we overtakes, it is not other cars but carriages: o) We stopped in Remdios which is an incredibly nice little town - old colonial houses and a charming square with two churches. We decided to stay here because the city flared of charm. We found the best Casa Particulara we have tried in Cuba. In addition, the city has some - so far - almost deserted islands nearby, Cayo Santa Maria, which was to cope with Cayo Coco. We unfortunately had no time to run there, but if they just a little reminiscent of Cayo Coco, the fantastic. We were served super dinner at our Casa Particulara - they could really make good food. In the house lives a young couple with her parents. His father is Chinese and mother is from Cuba. They thought it was funny that we had just celebrated New Year in China. We were served chicken soup, marinated chicken and caramel pudding.
