Yesterday we had to say goodbye to our campervan 🚐 It definitely won't be the last time we rent a campervan. The freedom and flexibility it provides was a huge plus. In the campervan we could prepare meals more easily wherever we were. The campervan was also spacious and really well equipped. We only paid DKK 825 per day, but chose to buy extra insurance as it's been a few years since we last rented a campervan. On average, we spent around $275 per night at campsites with really good reviews and nice facilities. We could easily have added more free nights in nature, but we chose facilities for the children. The camper was somewhat more expensive in diesel costs, but a liter of diesel costs only 7 kr per liter here in Australia. Significantly cheaper than in Denmark. If you do the math, it's probably about the same price as a vacation with hotel or cabin accommodation and car rental. Both types of travel have their pros and cons. Right now we are sitting in Perth airport and in about an hour we are flying into the middle of the country to Alice Spings and Ayers Rock. A new adventure awaits .....
