We arrived yesterday at a campsite south of Fremantle just before sunset🌅 It wasn't supposed to be this late, but our hike and drive north took longer. Here in Australia it's best to avoid driving after dark as kangaroos often run out in front of cars🛻 From Perth or Fremantle you can take a quick boat to Rottnest Island. A super beautiful island that is especially known for Quokkas - small, friendly marsupials that are often called "the happiest animals in the world" because they seem to smile in pictures. The only place in the world these cute animals live freely is on Rottnest Island! But the island has so much more to offer, like world-class beaches and snorkeling😎 It was nice to meet the friendly marsupials and the kids loved them! We went there on a day trip from Fremantle. On the island we rented 4 bikes for 480kr in total. The island is a bit hilly, but not very steep. But it is super obvious to experience on 2 wheels. There are a lot of people cycling between the beaches and the other attractions the island offers. The children managed the bike ride just fine. We cycled about 15 kilometers in total The temperature here in the Perth area is around 26 degrees and sunny every day. Yes, in Denmark we have about 1600 hours of sunshine annually, while Perth has 3200 hours of sunshine. Yes, Perth is one of the sunniest cities in the world! It's all just like a perfect Danish summer day🌞
