Busan, 2. største by

At 08:10 we flew from the small honeymoon island Jeju with Busan Air. You can also sail to Busan, which takes 11 hours. You can easily get cheap flights, especially if the departure time is flexible. We paid 360 dkk per ticket. It's cheaper to fly to Seoul as there are more flights to choose from. On board the plane, there is a magazine called "Fly & Fun", where there are coupons that give discounts/benefits on everything from free drinks in the casino, save 30-50% on selected hotels, save 30% on admission to Spa Land etc. Just save your boarding pass and the benefits are valid for 30 days. Busan is South Korea's 2nd largest city, so it's pretty big. It's home to 3.51 million people, so it also has a lot to offer. However, many tourists choose to travel past it. That, we think, is a shame. We really like the city. The only difference from Seoul is that it's by the sea, so there are beaches. If possible, there is even more life in the streets here. The city is packed with bars, restaurants and shops. We chose to stay in the center of the city in the area called Seomyeon. Here the streets never sleep. In the evening, all the neon signs are turned on so everything flashes and looks colorful. Lotte Hotel is the best hotel in the area - we're not staying here :o) - but it's possible to enjoy a drink on the 43rd floor with a view of the whole city. Highly recommended. Down in the lobby lounge, a small duo is playing. He's sitting at his piano and looks like a cross between Elton John and Steve Wonder. She is singing. Since we are in a high-tech society, her lyrics are not in a booklet - on the music stand is a small laptop. There are still many karaoke bars in the city. Koreans prefer to sing in closed private rooms just for their friends. There are no more places where you take turns singing for the whole bar. What a shame :o(
