Anchorage in Alaska

We are in Anchorage, Alaska's largest city with around 300,000 inhabitants. The city is beautifully surrounded by mountains and the magnificent nature that Alaska is known for. Anchorage is a special city in many ways. Although Alaska is one of the richest states in the US in terms of per capita income, the city faces some distinct challenges. About 1% of the population is homeless, and this characterizes the cityscape. There are also many people struggling with social and personal issues, and a number of former soldiers with trauma live here. Anchorage has both the wild beauty and complex problems that make the city different from many other places in the US. We have a 10-hour difference from Denmark. But we have done surprisingly well. Especially the kids are good 😀 When it's 19.30 here, it's 05.30 in the morning in Denmark We have been active and when we are hiking it is always with bear spray on us. Because at these latitudes bears are very common in the wild🐻 It's not cheap and we have to drop 45 USD for a spray in Walmart. Yes, here in Alaska prices are high. It also makes sense since it's the most isolated in the US stat🇺🇸
