Jordan

A trip to Jordan that offers the opportunity to experience a friendly arabian country in The Middle East on your own - away from the crowd of "ordinary"…

At the beginning of November 2011, we went on a one-week charter trip to the Middle Eastern country of Jordan. Normally, charter trips with the whole family in Denmark as co-passengers are not exactly our cup of tea, but an advantageous price of approx. 3700 DKK for flights and 7 nights at the Hilton in Aqaba, meant that we could not say no. Apollorejser and Falk Lauritsen currently offer charter trips with direct flights from Copenhagen to the southern city of Aqaba in Jordan. The flight time is approx. 5 hours. October/November are some of the best months to go to Jordan, as the temperature is a comfortable 25 degrees during the day in Aqaba, and it's still not cold in the northern part of the country. If you wait until December and January, temperatures drop to around 20 degrees in Aqaba and much colder in the north. Jordan is well worth a visit! In one week you can see the country's main attractions, and we thought a week in Jordan was just the right amount of time. With 2 weeks you can see the whole country and have time to go on an overnight camel safari in the Wadi Rum desert and see even more attractions. We chose to rent a car for 5 days and use the city of Aqaba as our base as much as possible. Renting a car is highly recommended. In the south of the country the traffic is very moderate, but a challenge in Amman, which requires an experienced driver. Look forward to reading about our trip around the country in the diary. We'll take you snorkeling south of Aqaba, to the magical wadi room desert, getting covered in mud and floating in the dead sea and visiting the cities of Amman & Madaba.
