What to Do in Addis

Today we played tennis, shopped at Churchill Road and much more in Addis Ababa Ethiopia.

The last few days of our trip are all about relaxation. No more intense travel experiences for us. Our room at Ghion comes with breakfast. The buffet is pretty decent, but we have to admit that the breakfast at Daselagn was a bit better. But hey, no big deal. We spent the day enjoying massages at Hilton. Honny had a tennis lesson, which turned out to be quite the workout. The combination of the sun and the altitude made it tough for him. We also got our money back for the flight ticket from Arba Minch that we didn’t use. We ended up renting a car instead since the flight wasn’t until Wednesday. It’s amazing how you can change or even cancel your flight tickets without any extra fees. We did a bit of shopping on Churchill Road and found a mask of a Mursi woman for our collection. It cost us 50 birr. We enjoyed an Ethiopian lunch at a nice restaurant called Farsika. This is the first hotel room we've stayed in that has CNN and BBC, so we can finally catch up with what's happening in the world. We've been completely cut off from everything. There aren’t many options for keeping up with news outside of Ethiopia, whether north or south. For dinner, we went to a Middle Eastern restaurant inspired by Yemen. As I mentioned before, there are plenty of opportunities to try food from various parts of the world. It was really interesting and tasted amazing. We’ve gotten used to going to bed early and waking up even earlier, so it’s a bit hard to adjust to normal bedtime hours again.
