Another restless night. This time, it was me who had to run back and forth to the bathroom thanks to diarrhea and vomiting. Jan’s stomach started acting up again too. We took turns on the toilet and ended up using seven rolls of toilet paper that night. We decided to check out once we had our stomachs somewhat under control. We headed over to the Jysk Rejsebureau office, where we got some great advice and had a long chat in Danish with other Danes :) We met a Danish girl who had just finished her veterinary studies and was here working on a project to neuter dogs to help reduce the population. They weren’t allowed to euthanize the dogs according to the laws, even though some were in really bad shape. Jysk Rejsebureau recommended a hospital where we could get our stomachs checked out. We didn’t want to be admitted again and needed to know we were being taken to a good doctor, so we decided to call Pradeep again, who took us to his family doctor. Pradeep drove off right away to pick us up. In the meantime, he had contacted his doctor, who happened to have a meeting nearby where we were. His doctor seemed like a very skilled lady who spoke excellent English, which made it even easier for us to communicate with her. Pradeep was incredibly helpful. After our appointment, we had to go to different pharmacies to get the right medicine, and he spent several hours helping us out. Now we just hope the medicine can calm our upset stomachs so we can enjoy Delhi without dehydrating. We had Pradeep drop us off in Old Delhi, even though he wasn’t too keen on it since the area has a bit of a shady reputation. We booked a room at Hotel Saina for 400 rs in Old Delhi Main Basar, which was recommended by Jysk Rejsebureau. The area is nice to be in, as there are plenty of backpackers and thus a lot of shops and restaurants. We stuck to a strict diet all day to avoid upsetting our stomachs again. Our meals consisted only of toast, bananas, and water the entire day.
