Today, Jan was off to dive, so we were up bright and early at 7 AM. We just had enough time to grab breakfast before he had to meet up with the rest of the diving group at 8. I managed to tag along on the boat for 900 shillings, while Jan's two dives set him back 90 USD. We both took a seasickness pill before heading out, but it didn’t take long before we were both feeling pretty green around the gills. What a rocky ride! Jan and another guy ended up hanging over the side of the boat, trying to throw up. Finally, we made it back to the beach, but we needed to crash for a bit to let our stomachs settle down. By mid-afternoon, we were starting to feel human again, so we wandered over to the neighboring bar, 40 Tyve, for lunch. Every Sunday, they have a lunch buffet with live music. The rest of the afternoon was spent lounging by the pool, where we spotted some wild monkeys playing in the back of the garden. Since it’s not safe to walk around after dark, all the restaurants offer free taxi pickups for their guests. We were picked up by the restaurant's own taxi, and they trust their drivers 100% to take all their guests back to their hotels—completely free of charge. We wrapped up the day with dinner at a cozy and affordable Indian restaurant.
