Today is Honey's birthday, so we're heading out to celebrate with an asado (BBQ) at a hostel tonight. It's unbelievable, but we're only paying 8 pesos per person for the food. That’s about 16-18 kroner! I packed some champagne and Turkish pepper candies in my backpack, so he got those this morning. If we wanted to wear clean clothes tonight, we had to get some laundry done, and luckily we managed to do that before the laundromat closed for the weekend. It’s great that pedestrian streets exist here in Argentina too. We wandered around for quite a while and then relaxed in the park afterward—just like the locals do :o) At one point, we stumbled upon a horse gear shop. We struck up a conversation with the owner, who is also an avid dressage rider. We saw pictures of him with his horse. He actually knew about Hasse Hoffman and his time as an Olympic rider—how cool is that? We left with a pair of suede leggings for 96 pesos—I think that’s a steal since they’re made of brown suede. As I mentioned earlier, Argentina is incredibly well-organized and functional. That also means they stick to their closing times. On weekends, street shops close at 2 PM, but the malls stay open until 5 PM. So, we had to convince the laundromat to take our laundry before they closed. Luckily, they were in a good mood, so now we have clean clothes :o) The BBQ party didn’t start until 10 PM—it's pretty normal to eat around 11 here. It turned out that a lot of people had signed up for the party, so there were about 15 of us sitting at a big table. There were so many nationalities represented—everything from Sweden and Ireland to Canada. It’s amazing how much food we got for just 8 pesos. We had several different vegetable salads, potato salad, turkey, beef, spicy sausages, and their famous black blood sausage. The night ended at various bars and nightclubs :o)
