Hainan - China's Hawaii
We checked in at the exclusive 5* hotel Howard Johnson in the city of Sanya in China.
Early up and away with flights to Hainan, although we came late to bed after New Years Eve. Some compare the island, Hainan, with Hawaii. Sunshine, beaches and plenty of palm trees. Hainan is a beautiful oasis in the cold winter. And a clean oven in summer, why the island has been named "Hell Backyard". It is only recently that the Chinese have got eyes up to Hainan. It has taken them 2000 years to conceive an interest in the island. Before Hainan was used to "keep" people who were condemned to live in exile. Today the island is a popular holiday destination for Hawaiian-dressed Chinese, Japanese and Russians who have not far to the neighboring countrys small sunshine island. There are good deals to get from the big resorts out of season. Therefore, we must stay at a five star hotel in two days - Howard Johnson. In China, this chain of pure luxury. We live with "grant seaview" of our room with balcony overlooking three pools and the sea. There is a small basin, called for "Hotspring Fish Massage Therapy". Here you can dip his feet and legs and then the small fish come swimming and sticking to your feet or legs. A tingling and different way to be massaged on. It costs 50 yen for 1 hour and 30 yen for the half hour. There are four restaurants at the Howard Johnson - not particularly expensive, but you can also take the little room crowded bus to downtown, where there are many restaurants. Several sites have huge aquarium with live fish, where you will select one for themselves. They made up and beaten to death with a big stick in the middle of the floor among the guests. Enjoy your meal.
