Today, we saved ourselves a grueling 12-hour bus ride by flying north to Salta. After a bumpy flight, we’ve arrived and checked into Hotel Krystal. We managed to haggle the price down from 99 to 80 pesos, so now we have a lovely room with a balcony and a view of the mountains, plus breakfast included! :o) We’re right by the pedestrian streets, so it didn’t take us long to head down and find a travel agency for tomorrow’s adventure—horseback riding in the Andes! :o) There’s a casino in town, so of course, we had to check it out in the evening. The minimum bet at the roulette table was just 1 peso, making it accessible for any budget! :o) After I lost my 20 pesos and Honny broke even with what he had played, we headed out to find a restaurant. We stumbled upon a really cozy spot that even had a menu in English. We’re not tired of the meat here yet, so we ordered big grilled steaks with baby potatoes, veggies, bread, and salsa—but we just stuck with cola. This marks only our second day without any drinks! ;o) The total bill came to 41 pesos—super cheap! In the evening and into the night, the pedestrian streets are bustling with people. Some are playing music, others are running little street shops, while many just stroll around, enjoying the atmosphere.
