😲 We met two celebrities in one day in New York! 🌆⭐ New York is teeming with celebrities, especially if you move around the right neighbourhoods on Manhattan, like the Meatpacking District, West Village and SoHo. Big stars also often appear on Broadway. Yesterday we saw the fantastic Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, with Tom Felton back in the role of Draco Malfoy. 🪄⚡ It was a huge experience for the whole family. The tickets certainly weren’t cheap though. Even with a discount, we paid around 600 DKK per ticket. 🎭 And as if that wasn’t enough, we actually also came close to meeting Zendaya yesterday. 🤩 She was staying at her luxury hotel in New York, but we missed her by just a few minutes. That’s how it goes sometimes. Today turned into another day with some pretty fun encounters. First we got talking to CNN host Bill Weir at Brooklyn Bridge. 📺 Later in the afternoon we headed to West Village, where we met Geoffrey Owens, who many will know from The Cosby Show. In recent years he’s made a great comeback with roles in, among others, Power Book II: Ghost, The Haves and the Have Nots and several other American series. 🤩 The best part was almost how incredibly down-to-earth both of them were. Geoffrey especially spent a good amount of time chatting with us. We told him about our trip, and he told us that as a child he’d actually stayed with an Amish family himself one summer. He asked with genuine interest who we were, where we were from and what we were experiencing on our trip. It’s pretty cool when famous people are that grounded. 🙌 We ended the evening at Pastis in the Meatpacking District. 🍷🍽️ The restaurant is a well-known gathering spot for both locals and celebrities, and over the years the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Bradley Cooper, Taylor Swift, Gigi Hadid, Leonardo DiCaprio and Martha Stewart have all stopped by. For Mette and me it was also a bit of a reunion. ❤️ We actually ate at Pastis more than 20 years ago, when we visited New York together for the first time. Funny to be back and feel all the old memories resurface. And tomorrow… a completely different adventure awaits. 🇺🇸✈️
