Relaxation in Luang Prabang

My body was still sore from yesterday's bike ride. Honny was doing fine, but we decided to take it easy today. We had also been out in the city the night before. We spent the day shopping at various markets and getting massages. Let me tell you, the massage really hurt—especially on my shoulders, which are super sore from mountain biking. A one-hour massage costs only 3 dollars. It's such a steal! The night market is just a short walk from our hostel. It's a cozy, laid-back market where, as always, you have to haggle over prices. By buying souvenirs and gifts here, the money goes directly to the poor families who come into town to sell their crafts. There are beautiful bags, wallets, and silk scarves. Silver pots and jewelry. Little wooden boxes, spoons, and trinkets. T-shirts and those comfy Vietnamese fisherman pants that are perfect for the heat. As I mentioned earlier, Laos is incredibly cheap. We had dinner at a charming little restaurant. For just 6 dollars, we got noodle soup, some kind of dried leaves with sesame, chicken in coconut, beef with vegetables, a type of fish, and fresh fruit, topped off with cappuccino for dessert. We definitely left feeling full! We've got big plans for tomorrow, so we hit the hay early. :)
