Switzerland, the small mountainous country with its banks, cuckoo clocks and fabulous skiing facilities, is clearly in most people's minds. And it's no wonder, because Switzerland is a fantastic country in many ways. A holiday in Switzerland might immediately be associated with skiing and hiking in the Alps, but in fact the country offers a wide range of varied options, from the snow-capped peaks of the Alps to modern cities and the warm climate on the border with northern Italy.
