Shoppingfestival

At 6am this morning we arrived in Dubai, where we have about 23 hours before we have to fly home. From home, we booked a hotel close to the airport as we have an early morning flight home. Unfortunately, the hotel was very inflexible regarding early check-in. We had written to them that we were arriving early and leaving very early. Considering they are right next to the airport, perhaps they should be more understanding of their guests' needs. We could only get the room from 11am. Instead, we found a little nook where we could get a couple of hours to relax before heading out to check out the shopping festival. The Dubai Shopping Festival runs from January 20 to February 20. All shops have extraordinary bargains. It is possible to find all kinds of brands in Dubai. ALL brands can be found in Dubai - Vero Moda, H&M, Gucci, Prada, D&G, Hugo Boss, Louis Vuitton, Burberry etc. You can get dizzy wandering around the giant shopping malls. They are so big that it's impossible to remember where you've been. We left with G-Star jeans + G-Star belt (630 dh) and Jack and Jones shirt (132 dh). The prices were cheaper than in Denmark. And of course there was a festival discount :o) We only had time to visit 3 shopping centers. The 2 big giants Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and the smaller shopping center Festival City, which is close to our hotel. It's not just clothes that are discounted. Dubai also has a great selection of handicrafts and home furnishings. They are fully up to date with the direction fashion is moving in. Just walking around their gigantic shopping centers is an experience in itself!
